The President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Fatherland (CNSP), Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, departed Niamey on Thursday, November 23, 2023, headed for Bamako (Mali) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), where he will undertake his inaugural official Working and Friendship visit.
Accompanying the Head of State on this journey is General Corps Commander Salifou Mody, Minister of State, Minister of National Defense, Colonel-Major Abdourahamane Amadou, Minister of Youth, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Bakary Yaou Sangare, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad.
Dr. Soumana Boubacar, Minister and Director of the Cabinet of the President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Fatherland, Soufiane Aghaichata Guichene, Minister of Handicrafts and Tourism, Ambassador Adani Illo, Diplomatic Advisor to the CNSP President, Abdou Adamou, Niger’s Ambassador to Mali, and Ibrahim Saa Sayadi, Consul General of Niger in Burkina Faso, are also part of the presidential delegation.
Having assumed power after the coup d’état on July 26, 2023, President General Abdourahamane Tiani is making his first official visit to member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (Sahel), signaling a diplomatic engagement with the regional community.
