A high-level delegation from the Turkish government, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, arrived in Niamey on Tuesday, July 17, 2024. They were welcomed at Diori Hamani International Airport by representatives of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland and the transitional government, under the leadership of Colonel-Major Abdourahamane Amadou.
The delegation includes Minister of National Defense Yasar Güler, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, MIT Chief Ibrahim Kalin, Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün, and Deputy Minister of Commerce Özgür Volkan Agar.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, heading the delegation, participated on Wednesday in a joint working meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine.
Turkey and Niger maintain cooperative relations in various fields such as defense, security, education, and infrastructure.
