Nigeria: 6 Soldiers Killed in Jihadist ambush

 

Six soldiers, including one Colonel, were killed in a jihadist ambush against a patrol in Borno State in northeastern Nigeria, announced Nigerian army.

The soldiers were ambushed while they were leaving Maiduguri, on their way to Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.

Militants of the Islamic State Group in West Africa Province (ISWAP) opened fire Wednesday on a military vehicle patrolling near Jakana, 30 km from the state capital, Maiduguri. All the soldiers in the vehicle were killed.
