Two civilians and four militiamen were killed on Sunday night in the offensive launched against militants of Uganda Muslim rebel group, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, according to military sources.
Another group of ADF killed two civilians in an attack perpetrated Sunday night. Another person was killed Monday in a gunfight between security forces and occupants of a farm suspected of sheltering the killers of a customary chief of the Sankuru province.
Twenty-three people were killed in the clashes which took place Wednesday and Thursday between the armed forces and some gunmen in Jailo and Agu in the territory of Djugu in Ituri (northeast).
